Parish Hall Update - September 2018
The Hall is looking great now thanks to the £42,000 Biffa Award and the Committee Room will undergo refurbishment over the winter when the Whippets finish running, as the Hall has been awarded £10,000 Lottery Funding money for this purpose.
A very successful and popular evening with music from The Six On Fire was held on Saturday 15th September, which raised over £1,000 for the local Air Ambulance.
New committee members are always welcome, particularly anyone who has the time and energy to organise events! If you can help please contact any member of the committee or secretary Anita Allsopp. Details are on the Parish Hall Contacts page.

SHUTTINGTON AND ALVECOTE PARISH HALL
‘MAKE-OVER’
Shuttington and Alvecote Parish Hall, has secured a £42,000 grant from Biffa Award; a multi-million pound fund that helps to build communities and transform lives through awarding grants to community and environmental projects across the UK, as part of the Landfill Communities Fund.
The project, which was awarded funding under the Biffa Award’s Community Buildings theme, enabled the hall to be refurbished and provide a warm and welcoming venue that the community has benefitted from. By installing up to date modern heating throughout, insulating and replacing the ceiling to the main hall and changing rooms, upgrading the windows and doors the whole hall has been improved.
